ical, google calendar, iPhone over the air syncing

OK, This iCal, Google Calendar, iPhone syncing issue has been beaten to death several times over but it took some time for me to find all the pieces so here you go. These are the super simple instructions to do all this for free.

Who this is for: People who want to have 2 way syncing with their ical, gcal AND iPhone over the air without having to rely on iTunes to do all the work.

Syncing iCal with GCal
1. BACK UP YOUR CALENDARS
2. Turn off any syncing solutions.
3. Download Calaboration, install and follow the instructions.  Select the calendars you want to sync with and click OK till it’s done.
4.  Launch iCal (should launch automatically).
5.  Add/Edit/Delete and enjoy!

Syncing iPhone with Google Calendar
This part is pretty simple.
1.  Go here and follow the instructions. It’s straight from Google.
2. Add/Edit/Delete and enjoy!!!

Annoying stuff:
* If you have more than 5 calendars in GCal, chances are they won’t sync properly. Google has acknowledged this issue and they’re trying to fix this.
** If you have a few calendars and only one shows up, go to m.google.com/sync on Mobile Safari. Select the calendars you want to sync up with on your iPhone. I found this little bit of info on a thread. Google should’ve done a better job explaining this.

Find me if you anyone has any questions.
