no to AT&T

I’ll be really short with this post. The Apple experience was expected, long lines, great fun, happy camper, blah blah blah. The AT&T side fell way way short. The title of this post says it all. I’ve been really frustrated. To add salt to the wounds, my Treo 700p crapped out on me. No display. I’m having all kinds of phone problems today. If you were one of the mystery texters today, please resend your SMS over. My screen on the Treo is not working and my iPhone is still “number porting”.
There are a bunch of posts out there and many many comments on the activation hick-ups people are receiving. For those with ineligible numbers, please refer to this AppleInsider article. Also check out this post over at nobosh.

And to all those who have their iPhones activated, congrats. And for those who are not happy like me, good luck and hang in there.

A majority of that time was spent installing Apple updates NOT going through the activation process. It was an overall painless experience with the exception of my new phone number, which would not have been a first choice. Unfortunately, both Bryan and Jeff ran headlong into serious delays while trying to activate their phones. Bryan has yet to have his phone activated and Jeff posted about his experience on his site.
